Syncing questions

Syncing questions

Hi there. Sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldnt find a thread for it:

I just bought a new phone and i want to import my almost 2000 offline synced songs which I have on my SD card. Is there any way to do this? Tried downloading the songs when after installing spotify on the new phone (which i thought might prompt recognizing the synced files) but it just started downloading the songs all over.

Does anybody know where the files are stored, so that i maybe can transfer them into the right folder on my SD card?

Thanks !

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

Unfortunately you will need to redownload them again, Spotify apps encrypt the offline tracks in a way which makes them unique to each device, meaning you can't copy them from one to another directly.

Okay.

Do you know how I can delete those synced files on my SD-card then? Since spotify didnt recognize them on my new phone. Tried the "delete cache and save data", but I believe they are still there, seeing half my storage capacity is occupied.

Thanks.

I'd just reformat the card in the phone, uninstall spotify and delete cache then reinstall which should make sure it favours storing music on the external SD card.
