TCL Google TV Volume Control

Solved!

TCL Google TV Volume Control

Plan: Premium

Country: USA

Device

TCL 55Q750G

Operating System

Google TV

TV App version 1.76.1

My Question or Issue

The volume control in my TV app is not behaving as expected. The minimum volume in the Google TV app is too loud.

When playing music in the app or when connected via Spotify Connect with an android phone I am not able to mute the volume using the mute button on the remote or turn it down below some arbitrarily loud volume.I cannot turn the volume to 0 using either the remote or the volume slider in the mobile app.

I have my TV connected to a sound bar using HDMI ARC, but I have also tried with the sound bar disconnected. Both methods produced the same result.

I turned on "Auto Volume Control" in the TV Audio settings which did make the minimum volume more bearable, but I still cannot reduce the volume below what I would consider "speaking volume"

After re-installing the app and switching TV Audio output settings from "ARC" to "internal speaker" and back to "ARC" the issue seems to be resolved. I can now reduce the volume to 0 both with the remote and from my phone with the volume keys or volume slider.

Weird.
