The infamous "Login but offline" thing again

The infamous "Login but offline" thing again

I have had this issue a couple of times now: Enabled offline mode, some time later (for whatever reason) Spotify logs out.

If I try to login again I can't and I get a reminder that the app is offline (even though Username and Password are correct and internet connection works) because apparently Spotify thinks it's still in offline mode. Searching the forums reveals that apparently this issue has been around since at least 2017, but it seems nobody really knows any other fix than reinstalling and Spotify hasn't fixed the bug in 3 years.

Well, I think I just found another workaround: I opened the app settings, navigated to Spotify, clicked on "Storage" and then deleted data and cache. I was able to login again and, most importantly, still saw playlists, albums, and artists. I had to download everything again which is still a PITA but at least it was already in the library.

Maybe this is helpful for somebody out there.

Hey there @flowic!

Welcome to the Community and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

This might be caused by an issue with your device's stared cache. Usually performing a clean reinstall of the app with the steps here should help solve this.

You'll need to make sure that all old Spotify files are completely removed from you device before you reinstall the app again.

If you're using an SD-card, it would be a good idea to make sure it's formatted as external storage.

In case the issue persists, you can reach out to our support team who can reset the offline devices on your account, which should help solve this.

Keep us posted on how it goes. Give us a shout if you have any further questions.
