Hi,
Would it be possible to add controls for "Thumbs Up/Down" to the Spotify Android Wear app? This would be quite handy, because it would mean I don't have to pull out my phone to rate tracks.
Also, why can't I rate tracks on things like my "Playlist of the Week"? This would allow me to let Spotify know if it did a good or bad job with that personalized Playlist...
Thanks!
Hey @user-removed, Welcome to the community! 🙂
It looks like you are suggesting an idea 🙂
All ideas should be posted in the ideas section here 🙂
A bug is a feature which doesn't work as it should whereas you're asking for a missing feature to be added so the ideas section is the best place for your post. You can copy and paste your original post to save typing.
If you're adamant that this is a bug, post in the issues section but don't be surprised if they mark it as "not a bug".
I retract my claim that this is a bug. But it does seem very odd that there appears to be no way to tell spotify that I like a song outside the context of a station. Does adding a song to my library and / or a playlist accomplish this.
Adding a song to your playlist and playing it more will allow Spotify to better understand your listening habits 🙂
Thanks.
What about just adding it to a playlist (or, really adding several of my favorite albums to several playlists) without listening to them right away? Will Spotify use there presence in my playlists as a hint?
Similarly, what about just saving a song to my library (by hitting + when it plays) without adding it to a playlist?
Remember my goal is to help spotify get to know me faster. I don't listen to music all day and while I'm getting pretty good recommendations already, there is a lot of room for improvement. Specifically, neither my Daily Mix, nor Discover weekly are playing many (almost none) songs from either my playlists or my library.
I'm going to also look for a better topic to cross post this ...
Well, Spotify won't play any of the songs in your playlists or library in discover weekly as the idea behind discover weekly is to discover new song. But the longer you listen to Spotify the better it will get to know you!
Adding songs to playlists, especially playlists you play often will probably help Spotify understand your taste in music. for your daily mix, it's quite simple, press the like button or dislike button on tracks (pressing like will add it to your library) and that will help improve your daily mix
As for helping Spotify get to know you faster, the algorithms are created in order to pick up what you like through daily interactions without adding any effort to your side, so the best way to help Spotify get top know you better is to listen to songs, press like where you can and add your favourite tracks to your library and play them, that's the best way to get Spotify to improve on your discover weekly 🙂
