My Question or Issue

I have had zero issue since going to premium until 4 weeks ago where that my Spotify app cant find any playable devices however if i go into the sonos app it plays that way. I have tried rebooting my system on both my sonos and phone. Removed device and reinstalled. Updated everything i can possibly update. This is becoming extremely annoying and definitely off putting

Thanks

I have had this problem and narrowed it down to my WiFi router and 2.4ghz / 5ghz software. Updated router and problem disappeared. Asus router

Hey there @Gmcguinness123,

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

We suggest that you try following these steps:

1. Unlink your Spotify and Sonos accounts.

2. Turn your Sonos speaker off.

3. Restart your router by unplugging it from power for at least 30 seconds.

4. Log out from your Spotify account, restart your phone, and log back in.

5. Turn on your Sonos speaker and link your accounts again.

Also, make sure that the Sonos speaker's firmware is updated.

Let us know how it goes.

I have tried the above things on more than one occasion and none are fixing the issue

Hey @Gmcguinness123,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

In this case, would you mind sharing with us the exact OS version of your mobile device, along with the Spotify version you're running there?

On another note, we'd like to know if the Connect feature works fine on other devices, can you see other devices in the Connect list? Is this happening if you change the internet connection you're using? is this happening over WiFi? 3G/4G? Both? You can create, if possible, a hotspot from your phone. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? If yes, please send us the details.

Keep us in the loop!

Hello,

I encounter the same problem on my S23 Ultra.

A restart temporary fixes the problem, but after a while I can't find any speakers anymore except for "Google Chrome Cast" on my Nvidia Shield.

On my old phone, being still on One UI version 5.0, I do not expierence these problems.

Best regards.

Hi there @Threeway,

It's possible that this issue is caused by the latest update on your main phone, since your other phone can still find the speakers.

You can check the device settings on your S23 and make sure that all permissions related to connectivity like Network/ WiFi are enabled. It's possible that an OS update has defaulted some connectivity settings to disabled.

I also recommend going through the troubleshooting steps suggested by @AlejaR and @Eni, as sometimes all you need to do is reset your router for all devices on the network to become visible to each other.

Keep us posted on how you get on.

My Question or Issue

For some reason my phone 90% of the time wont find my sonos speakers. i have them set up as "bathroom (1 speaker)" and "living room(4 speakers)". My gf's iphone find both bathroom and living room on spotify connect. Mine, android samsung does not for some reason. it does like 10% of the time.. 1 time every month or 2..  Tested with computer, it does find bathroom and living room in the spotify app for windows.

I am a technical person, so i've tried to set my phone to a ip closer to the speakers "just to check". didnt help. I can provide whatever technical info required to assist me.

tried:

- uninstall - reinstall spotify

- Opted out of Beta, didnt help.

- logged off all devices in spotify and disconnected all apps in spotify to re-connect em. didnt help.

Quite annoying since this started occuring in april 2023. Before this, ive never had an issue with android, spotify and sonos.

Help!

SOLUTION:

So, just for fun, i tried to do a re-boot ( turn off, on). That worked.. But like others are saying, for how long does that work and that's only a temporary solution. Like this post if this worked for you as well.

Edit: This happens to me maybe once every week or every 3 weeks. Just do a restart of the phone and i can see all the sonos devices again in  Spotify.

Thanks for this post. Same problem with my s23 ultra. Changed settings on sonos to give permission for music and audio and it's working now - not sure if that was the fix but may be worth a try!

Any solution? Have exactly the same problems with my s23. This is so annoying ๐Ÿ˜”

My solution was to restart my phone and they reappeared.

Nope absolutely nothing and Spotify have been useless and so has sonos

I assume this already:

You are on the same network as Sonos.

You have connected sonos and Spotify.

You can confifm some other devices has this working, while yours dont?

My Question or Issue

Hi,

It's been a few days that the Sonos speakers are not showing in the Spotify app. This has never been an issue before on my Samsung galaxy S20FE. I've recently installed the latest Spotify update along with the Samsung software update. I guess one of these led to the issue.

I have tried restarting / re-authorising Spotify in Sonos / toggle on-off the WiFi, nothing seems to be working.

Any help on this?

Same issue ith my S23.

Does this have something to do with the network? With all the comments it seems like it has nothing to do with it. Mostly device or purely Sonos and Spotify connection issue between the two. Because, we have one location wherein we have a multiple Sonos amps. All of a sudden, all the Sonos amps cannot find thru Spotify connect but can still see thru Airplay. I took back one of it in our office, but no issue in there. I can find the Sonos thru Spotify connect.

I have the same issue with galaxy zfold.  My computer and iPhone see all the Sonos devices.  My z fold only sees 1 of 3.

I'm also using an android phone and am not seeing my sonos move 2 speaker on the devices list, only my Google cast devices. Restarting phone temporary fixes the issue then it drops out for the next session. I would rather not be restarting my phone everytime I just want to listen to music on my speaker. My wife has no issues on her iOS iPhone. So I assume it's an android thing.

  • Is there a fix for this problem yet? Has anyone found a solution other than restarting their android device?
