Hey all,
I've had my "extra" phone laying around for quite some time now.. since last summer I think, mostly because it is one of those that are too new and have the wonderful ability to update to 4.2.2.. I'm not happy with that!
So, I just updated the phone yesterday and did all that.. I do know that it is more or less impossible for apps to use the SD card, but since Kitkat was released there should have been someone figuring out how to actually get it to work.. So I've looked around and found probably around 20 threads and pages telling me how to do it.. NONE of it works..
Anyhow, I'm writing here now as there is a really nice thread here to follow which I link to right here;
Well.. I've followed that completely and it still doesn't work..
I have;
Uninstalled Spotify through the Settings->Apps approach, I've removed the "/android/data/com.spotify.music" folder, which is the only one created on my phone. That is on the internal storage as well.. I've then restarted the phone, I've reformatted the SD-card, made sure it was available, and then reinstalled Spotify. It does not do any difference, Spotify loves my phone more than my SD-card.
I've set SD-card as the primary saving place in Settings->Storage and it sure works for the camera at least.
When I clear the cache of Spotify or when I reinstall Spotify and open it up the first time it always says "No SD-card found, We couldn't find any place to save our data.. blabla.." and then it shuts down. Next time I start Spotify I get to the login screen..
The SD-card works, there's nothing wrong with it. I can use it in my computer, I can save and view photos off of it both on the computer and on the phone.. So I doubt there is something wrong with the SD-card. But still, Spotify refuses to use it.
Any help on this?

Have you tried changing your download quality to extreme???
Try another clean install, immediately after logging back into the app set your download quality to extreme and set one of your 'larger' playlists as 'Offline' and let it download to your device. Hopefully it should go to the SD Card.
Hello Daniel,
Thanks for replying!
I forgot to say that, but yeah I've both tried without changing to extreme and go with normal directly after I login. I've tried streaming over WiFi and 3G. I've tried to chose both large and small playlists to Offline.. no difference in anyway.
I would just like to point out that the thread I linked to, your thread, is excellent and I really hoped that it would work. But it seems that there is something else that is not working for me.
Right now I just feel like going back to my previous phone and throw this one in the garbage, just because Android is pure crap with this version.. 😞
Hi again,
I'm using a CAT B15Q, with more or less stock Android. The SD card is a Kingston card with 32GB. It is a microsd so how could you have write protect on it? Also, the camera-app can save photos to the SD card. Or would that be possible even if the card is write protected somehow?

Daniel, you're the greatest! Thank you so much for helping me! I've also written a note in the thread where @BartL gave the solution.
Thank you so much for your awesome help, finding the solution! 🙂
Glad you're sorted, seems CAT did something odd with the ROM before applying it to the phones... But main thing is it can be fixed thanks to some great forum members!
