Very badly matching songs play when switching devices - how to stop?

Very badly matching songs play when switching devices - how to stop?

Premium/US/Pixel5a5g&Win10/11PC

I have autoplay on, and it's fine when my 99.999% used playlist ends, however, if I switch devices, i.e. to Android(driving), it starts playing really wrong songs (for my liking). Like, really wrong - would never search those. They seem like the 'special of the day' advertised creator.  How do I stop this?  Do I have to turn off AutoPlay, or might there be a real fix?

Hey @JimGaleForce2,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community!

We understand how this could be a frustrating user experience. However, the Radio algorithm works with a humongous pool of audio content and the suggestions are based on your listening habits as well as on various interconnected factors. Therefore it's good to know that perfect matching isn't always possible and that you can also pro-actively teach the app of what you like and dislike so it becomes more and more accurate.

You can read on how to accomplish this here and take advantage of the options to improve the playlists made for you. After actively doing so, you should be able to observe results for your profile and personalized recommendations in one to three weeks time.

Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted if you have any questions.

The Radio algorithm is either really really bad, or I have a very
consistent, 100% edge case for failures. I work with ML algo's and I can't
see what input would cause these models to be so wrong. I've turned off all
suggestions since they are all -very- off.

Over a year later, this is still extremely broken and very frustrating. How can I turn this off:

1. Go from, like, car to work.

2. See Spotify. Click Windows Icon 'PLAY'.

3. Hear style of music that I've never played, ever - unchosen. No good algo would ever pick this.

4. Try to stop it - not responsive. Clicking play on other playlists looks like it clicks - and is ignored.

5. Open Task Manager, wait. Wait. Find Spotify. KILL IT.

6. Reopen Spotify. Choose correct playlists.

My settings do not have anything (that I can find) to randomly choose unchosen songs.
What settings do I need to check?
