Volume Slider no longer available

Is there a way to change the layout of the volume adjuster? Up until a few days ago I've been using the volume sliding layout on my phone when I connect to the Spotify on PS where I can slide the button from lowest to highest but after connecting my Android to the Spotify on the Samsung TV itself, the layout changed into a small box with no sliding options and I can only adjust it through the buttons on my phone. When I tried to reinstall it I managed to get back the original layout but the lyrics for the song would disappear, and after an hour or so the lyrics would appear again but the volume adjuster layout turned back to the small box. Is there a way to get back both lyrics and sliding layout permanently?
