WHY?!

Solved!

WHY?!

I'm seriously pissed as hell right now!

Why the hell is the option to save offlineplaylist to SD removed?!

Why do I have to copy all my stuff on the phone to the computer to be able to play it through spotify?!

Why am I not able to simply move the whole freaking app to SD?!

Why the hell would I want the whole facebook community to know I listen to a certain song?!

Last but not least. Why the hell should I pay 100 SEK per month for this when I can't use it to play my local files or save the offlineplaylist to SD?!

I demand answers, local files and SD location for offlineplaylists!

Because they don't know what they're doing. Saving music content to SD should be the first thing they thought of.

The way spotify syncs music to your phone is like iTunes, you can't just copy the files on the phone and have it playable. Stupid, I know, they really think they're dealing with ipods here.

Because Spotify is dumb and has forgotten its roots when it was about listening to music. Spotify is now trying to profile itself as a music sharing service instead of a music streaming service. This is why new users are forced to log in using Facebook. Sharing is being considered more important than listening, that's what happens when a company sells out to Zuckerberg.

Totally agree. Spotify is going down the tubes and I'll probably cancel it soon as they don't listen to criticism.

I emailed them twice with various complaints about the Android app - which is the only reason I pay for the service - and never got a response, not even a pretend "we appreciate your feedback" BS response.

They managed to fix a couple of problems with the new release whilst creating a whole bunch of new ones including this external SD debacle.

I don't give two you know whats about Facebook intregration or sharing my music I just want to listen to music!!!!

Sadly I think people like us are no longer the target market for their product.

I am inclined to agree with everything put here. I used to love spotify, but it is becoming a real bind to use. It seems they have tried too quickly to turn themselves into something they are not; are being assimilated by the facebook monster; and have not been able to develop or test with the professionalism I used to expect from Spotify.

The support is lacking, I guess this maybe because it is overwhlemed. I am currently researching alternatives that are a STREAMING service, and not trying or pretending to be anything else. I want to listen to music on my computer, and on my mobile. I don't want to publish my tracks, recommend tracks, or see what the 15 year olds near me are listening to. I want to, simply, listen to music.

Spotify is quikcly becoming a buggy, bloated service that fails to do what it used to do so well; better than anyone in fact.

i would like to know why spotify themselves are not actually coming forward about these issues. and listening to their community. having a bit of an apple/ms moment perhaps? forcing changes on the grounds that consumers will eventually adjust to what developers dictate they should have?

i personally liked the previous version of spotify, i wish they would have bettered it instead of creating the windows vista of all spotify versions,

it's become clear that a lot of ppl are unhappy w the current service and app.

the whole idea of paying for spotify was that i could use it on my phone. the new version is slow, drains my batteries like there is no tomorrow, i cant quit without resorting to task managers and it's horribly buggy when it comes to hopping between 3G and wireless. and oh did i mention i am paying for this?

so what i suggest is that we gather here and brainstorm to find a new provider. perhaps that will grab someone's attention on the spotify side? and they will come forward w a plan of action to rectify the debacle the last update caused.

so anyone has any ideas? i will not stoically wait for a disastrous next update and waste money every month. on a service that does not match my needs.

It would be a shame to dump spotify, but recently it's not cutting it! And as you say, there doesn't seem to be any kind of honest response.

It's obvious there are problems, just look around the forum. Even a simple "Ok, we messed x and y up, we are doing such and such, apologies, etc", would be better than the normal "Have you tried reinstalling your app?".

Napster anyone? I know that they are relaunching in the UK?

a friend recommended these guys: http://www.rdio.com/

no need for an app on your pc, it's browser based...

same pricing as spotify...

I just cancelled my account because the Android app sucks.  I'm looking into Rdio and Slacker.  Any suggestions?

I need something that allows offline caching for my phone, so going to give napster a go on their free trial. Will check out the above too.

Well this is a typical case of spotify not giving a **bleep** about what people think. Made this thread a long darn time ago and well they just don't give a **bleep**.
