Warning - do not upgrade your Android app to latest version!

Warning - do not upgrade your Android app to latest version!

Seems after the last upgrade around 6th October 2017 of the Android app I'm no longer able to play most songs/albums which are/were part of my library. This even seems to affect the Windows application! The Windows application can be fixed easily by deleting the users folder under AppData\local\Spotify and it will work as long you do not log into the buggy Android app. This behavior is reproducible.

I just downgraded the Android app to an older release (you can find old apks on Aptoide) and everything is working fine again.

Spotify, please fix the issue with the Android app!

This just saved my spotify subscription. I downgraded to an older version of the android app and it finally let me play Drake and the Weeknd, which were previously unplayable. However, I've been unable to fix the installation of spotify on either of my windows machines. Regardless, thank you.

I'm glad that one worked for you, too.

On Windows please try to delete the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Spotify\Users directory which was a fix for me.

Now as many seem to have these issues since almost a week now I'm wondering if Spotify are actually following these discussions and come with some more details on that - and a fix of course! This is really annoying and I was also thinking about cancelling my subscription if that won't be fixed soon
