I logged out of the application and turned the phone off and on again, I entered the application again, the same did not fix it.

Could you let us know if you're seeing this only on a specific playlist or on all of your personal playlists? We'd also like to know if those letters appear only on your downloaded content.
On another note, would you mind letting us know if the same happens using a different device or if you're seeing them only on your phone?
If this only happens on your phone, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one.
