When I connect my headphones via Bluetooth music plays from the speakers

When I connect headphones or air pods to my Samsung phone music still plays through the speaker but all the other apps play through my headphones. It's just Spotify and when I go to connect to my laptop it works it's just Spotify on my phone that doesn't work. I've tried everything I found on Google and it still doesn't work.

Could you let us know what troubleshooting steps you've tried? If you haven't tried, go to your device's Bluetooth settings and forget the speaker. Then pair the devices again and check if that helps. 

On another note, if you already tried reinstalling the app, it's worth trying a clean reinstall by following these steps. This is a more thorough process and it might help. 

Lastly, go to the Spotify app and check if you can change the output device from the device picker.
