When i save a song it downloads to my phone

When i save a song or album to my library it is downloading to my phone.  It is not set to play offline but when you open the artist it shows a green arrown by each song.  This has caused me to have no memory on my phone. Can i save without it downloading?

Hi there!

When you save a song to your Library it will get a green arrow, it's not being downloaded for offline access. The green arrow is just an indication so that you'll now that you've saved it.

When is save them are they saving to my phone? I deleted the spotify app
and I cleared a ton of memory.

No, when you save a song it is not saved locally. It's saved to your Library, so whichever device you're using you'll see that song saved to your Library. If you want to add songs for offline listening you'll need to choose the option "Available Offline"
