My Question or Issue

I discovered, that the Spotify Android app (v 8.5.62.904) is extremely slow when the signal (LTE, 3G, ...) is bad (or slow internet connection due to heavy trassmissionmast usage at rush hour) , even if I only want to look at my downloaded albums and listen to them...it takes forever to load the downloaded album.
When I then put my phone in airplane-mode or switch of wifi and mobile data everything is up to speed then.

....and that makes me angry 😞

regards

Andy

Sorry, but this does absolutely not help!

This is a general problem on how the app itself is built. I also had that "problem" with my last smartphone which was a NOKIA 7.1+....and this isn't a device problem!

Fact is that the software checks if there is a connection to the internet (wifi or mobile data) and if not, it just relies on the data it has already somewhere in the storage. Otherwise if it has access to wifi/mobile data the app does NOT check if the connection has proper "download speed" to get all the data it wants to refresh the storage. But it seems that it's not wanted do do that asynchonously, means to show me the data it already has and does the update in the background.

It would be more than OK for me and probably ALL the other spotify app users to get the "old" data shown instead of waiting 2 minutes until the storage is refreshed.

So I want you to open up a feature request in Jira or whatever you use there.

So my solution is now to switch off wifi and mobile data, so the album/playlist view with the downloaded stuff is working immediately....which is very bad user experience!

I'm annoyed!

I still have NO satisfying answer....I am very dissapointed from the community management here. You suck big time!
