With equalizer turned on, volume decreases at the start of songs.

With equalizer turned on, volume decreases at the start of songs.

I have a Moto X Play and a Nexus 5x, and after playing with the equalizer on both devices, I notice on some tracks I get an initial high volume and then after half a second the volume drops.

While i understand that turning equalizer off will solve it, i don't want to, because i'd like to keep my sound effects, I need them to make full use of my headphones, isn't there another solution?

This seems to be an Android wide issue, probably something to do with volume normalization, not just spotify related, still, I'd love if you guys knew any kind of way of turning this off.

Both phones run Android M, with the Nexus 5x running the stock version, of course.

Thank you ❤️

What EQ app are you using? Any from the Play Store or is t the stock Android version?

I'm using stock EQ on the Nexus 5x (which should be Google's standard EQ) and Equalizer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.equalizer&hl=en) from the Play Store on the Moto X Play.

Both show the same results, sound lowering half a second into the track.

Try re-installing the Spotify app and seeing if it's the link between Spotify & the EQ which needs reapplying.

Re-installed spotify and results were the same.

The same thing has been happening to me...except I've been using Spotify's in-app equalizer^^. I also have a Nexus 5x.
