My Question or Issue

I have not come across this issue till today. I've researched but no one else seems to be having this problem (Wi-Fi or cellular) (also when on Wi-Fi I have gb dowload / upload speeds)

So if I have a fresh open after closing spotify I can press play and it'll play and go through the playlist... If I select a song it won't play till I close spotify and re open. If I press next it just won't play until I close and reopen (yes everything is updated)  in order to play a song I want I have to select it, close the app.then open it and press play

Same issue on android. Just started today. 

Same issue on android since yesterday. Can't play Podcasts. I have to restart and play a song first and then a podcast. Fast forward doesn't work, too.

Thanks for reaching out and reporting this behavior to us.

 

Just to confirm, have you tried a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device? We recommend the steps in that guide, as they’re very thorough and make sure no damaged leftover files remain. These changes tend to solve issues like the one you're experiencing.

 

If that doesn't fix things, could you share the make, model, OS version and exact Spotify version on the devices you experience this on? If you could make a recording of the issue, this would help us a lot in getting to the bottom of this quicker.

In the past couple of days this has started happening to me. Here are my details

 

  • The Spotify version that is running on your device: 8.6.84.1353
  • Device + OS version: iPhone X iOS version 15.0.2
  • Your Network provider: Telstra
  • If the issue persists when you're using WiFi: Completely fine using WiFi

Extremely frustrating! Songs are dimmed/greyed out and I cannot choose songs but if I click the play button at the top of the playlist it starts playing songs from the playlist??

And yes, I have tried a clean install, resetting iPhone network setting, restarting iPhone, toggling data saver mode, changing from 4G to 3G (worked momentarily) then back again.

Our best tech folks are aware of this and are working on a fix. 

 

We understand this must be frustrating, but hopefully it won't be too much longer before the issue is resolved. Sorry to keep you waiting.
