album loses progress after 15 minutes of inactivity

LG Optimus G e975, Android 4.4.2, Spotify 1.4.0.631

 

If I am playing through a saved (and downloaded) album, and I pause for 15 minutes or so, when I return to Spotify I get the message "This track is not available" and the player shows that there is no track currently playing, thereby losing where I was up to in the album. Mobile reception is available.

 

The issue does not occur when using saved playlists, only saved albums.

Hi. A pain isn't it!

Unfortunately that's android closing Spotify as you're seen as not using it so the OS is getting up memory and saving battery by closing it. On opening again it does sometimes take a couple of seconds to register a connection to the Internet but there does seem to be an annoyance that last track, or track progress gets lost.

This is because of the way Spotify handles streaming and the system which controls last played media is very buggy. Spotify are aware of this and do have it in mind that it needs looking at
