Spotify app nail-bitingly slow on Android

So since a few months my Spotify app has gotten extremely slow. It's super annoying, it takes ages to load my list of albums and when I scroll too fast through this list (before all the thumbnails are loaded) the app crashes. Same goes for playlists....
