everytime i try to listen to music on my androde phone or on my tablet i knock my step son off.

You can access Spotify on multiple devices, but you can only stream music on one device at a time. More info about this here.

we have family premium and a supposed to be able to listen on 3 devices at the same time

and now my husband and stepson are knocking each other off so only 1 device is working

Just to check, is your husband and stepson using their own Spotify credentials? Are they getting any specific error messages?
