My Question or Issue
Hi Team & Community
I have the "Local Files" switch on, a set of mp3 files on the device, but the application doesn't see them. The same files are seen by the Spotify linux desktop app.
The Spotify version 8.7.72.546
Do you know how to fix that?
Thanks!

Hi there folks,
Thanks for your posts.
Currently you can have local files from your phone or synced over from your PC to your phone.
If you're having trouble using local files, I'd recommend running through the steps in this article to make sure everything necessary is switched on.
If none of that works, please let us know if you're trying to synch files from your computer to your phone, or you're talking only about files located on your phone itself.
@lemmsh, since Spotify is not officially supported on Linux, we can't guarantee that the play and upload of local files would work as expected. Nevertheless, you can check out this post, for more help with local files upload on Linux.
Hope this helps 🙂
Hi Alex, thank you for your reply.
Yes, I've turned on the local files setting as described in the article. I don't have anything like "default local file sources or click/Add Source to add a custom folder" though. Please find the screenshot attached.
The issue is with local files on Android, I'm not trying to sync anything. On Linux everything works great.
Hey @lemmsh,
Thanks for the reply.
Are the files located on the internal memory or on an SD card? What's the absolute path to the Local Files?
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
that's standard downloads path on pixels, please see the screenshot. I'm not sure if they have a separate SD card, at least not a replaceable one.
thank you!
