playing my own music

My Issue

i uploaded some of my files own of music to my spotify account and then i put them in a playlist(all on my desktop). I can play and download these tracks on my laptop, but if i want to download the playlist on my phone it won't work. i have read that i need to sync both of my devices on the same WIFI-Network and i did that. But it still won't work. Can someone please help me?
