"Local files" songs stop playing after 1 second on phone only.

For some reason, a couple days ago, any songs that were originally "local files" from my computer will fade out after 1 second. The bar at the bottom still moves and if I start a song in the middle it picks up there (for 1 second). This doesn't occur on my desktop, only on my galaxy s8. The strange thing is, when I hook my phone up to my car using bluetooth and play the same songs, they play fully. All other songs play perfectly fine and I couldn't find any other topics that had a similar problem. Not sure what's going on and any help would be greatly appreciated.
