My Question or Issue

theres been many occasions in which the title of whatever song im listening to will disappear from the now playing bar and the bottom of the spotify app and i have to either peek at another song or just skip the song entirely. its happened countless times since the design of the now playing bar changed a few years ago, and its very irritating. ill also add that it used to happen on my oneplus 6t before switching phones too, and that ive tried clean reinstalling the app two or three times with no luck

hope ye can figure out what the issue is and how to fix it

Hey there @fatfard4

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Could you let us know if this only happens on your phone or on other devices as well? We'd also like to know if this happens with all playlists or only with a specific one.

On another note, could you check if the same happens while connected to a different network?

If this only happens on one specific device and across any networks, we suggest that you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone and check if they can replicate this behavior with their account.

Keep us posted.

sorry for the wait, ive been on holidays for the last few weeks and for the most part have only had access to internet through mobile data, so i havent been able to properly test whether it happens on other networks or not. but ive been back for a few days now, and i can say now for a fact that it has also happened on our home wifi. and altho ive asked a couple people if theyve had similar issues - to which theyve said they havent - like ive said before, i do vaguely remember having this is issue on my oneplus 6t (specifically once the playback bar design changed a couple years ago) before switching just under a year ago. its never happened on my laptop or playstation tho, so i think this is an issue strictly with mobile versions

as for whether this happens on specific playlists, ive had this happen many times regardless of what tracks are being played or where theyre being played from. ive had this happen with playlists, albums, song queues and pretty much anything else

hope this helps

Thanks for getting back to us @fatfard4!

Are you by any chance using an SD-card on your phone? If that's so, please remove it in case there's corrupted cache causing this behavior.

You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but if you haven't done this already I recommend a more detailed, clean reinstall with the steps here. Corrupted cache can cause different performance issues, so it's worth giving this a try just in case.

Afterwards if this doesn't change anything, it'd be great if you could ask a family member or a friend to log in to their account on your phone as suggested by @Eni.

Hope to hear from you soon 🙂
