spotify app on android does not start or takes several minutes to start

My Question or Issue

When I start the Spotify app on my phone, it does not load. It shows a black screen or sometimes a black screen with the spotify logo on it for several minutes. Sometimes I can get it to start by force closing, trying again, and force closing if needed for several attempts until it finally starts. I have tried freeing up storage on the phone, deleting data+cache of spotify app, reinstalling the app, and restarting the phone. I have had this issue for the last week or so.

Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread.

As we haven’t seen any similar posts about this recently, could you let us know if you’re still having troubles with this?

If you are, it's a good idea to try a clean reinstall (instead of a regular one) to clear any old files that might be causing issues.

If that doesn't do it for you, we'll need to know if this happens on all your devices and their models and OS version.
