spotify connect not working on marantz

Just got marantz sr7009 and using android phone app. Receiver does not show up as connect device.

Have contacted Denon and spotify and got an answer from spotify-support. They wrote, spotify recognized the problem and is working 24/7 to fix it.
I hope, spotify is really doing so. For me i have set a deadline. If the issue is not solved till then, i'm gonna unsubscribe from premium-membership. There a lot of streaming services working with airplay.

Ok, I Just downladed the newest spotify update for Android. everything works fine for now!

At this moment spotify just works fine on Marantz SR6009, The Netherlands. No more freeze after 2 seconds, no problems when changing to another song..Hope it stays this way...

 

Did you apply an update to Spotify to achieve this?

Works now well without any update on my NA6005.

I updated spotify on my phone and it works again. I thought it might have needed an update on the AV receiver, but apparently not.

When I go to the iOS app store, I see a last updated date of 8/10. What date/version are people using that works?

The last update for Android was yesterday, (8/27)

@afidb: there is one thin i can't understand: why updating the home-cinema system? Spotify has done an buggy update. In my opinion it was up to spotify to fix it, and they did.
So everything is going fine again, isn't it?
Referring some other bugs from Microsoft or other Software, spotify fixed it right quick. I am happy with it. Thought, it would take about some weeks or the even in worst case: it wouldn't run anymore and i possibly have to buy another amp / running it over airplay till the End of my days 😉

I have the SR7009, Spotify Connect has worked flawlessly until this issue about a week ago. It is now working fine again without any update on either the iOS Spotify app or the Marantz.

I couldn't tell whether the fault was from marantz or spotify side to be honest. But now, after its working again without any updates to my NR1605 I'm assuming it was network issue on Spotify side that got fixed.
My downloading the spotify app update might not have been necessary.

Either way I'm just glad it works now, and hope it stays that way!

I'm facing a similar problem with the Marantz NR1606

 

I've got an Android phone with Android 6.0, an up to date version of Spotify (4..4.0.1008) and obviously, a premium account as well.

 

I tried updating my NR1606 and it didn't do the trick.

 

When I open the Spotify app, I can see the device but when I tap its name to connect, it just gets stuck at Connecting... for several seconds and switches back to listening on the phone with the Marantz never going active.

Any ideas? This is getting a little frustrating and I'm thinking of setting up Android dev tools and sniffing the logs for some clear indication of what's going on.

Have the same problem with my 7009. When I try to connect to spotify the hole network on the 7009 breaks down. Need to wait a minute for the network to get back online and after that the phone does not find the 7009 at all.

Same here, it isn't working since 2 days.

I tried everything concerning the devices (tried on laptop, tablet, cellphone), used neighbors wlan for the receiver and my laptop to exclude possible problems with my own network. I disconnected and rebooted everything, nothing helps.

 

Web radio is working fine.

 

That's not the first time I have this problem with marantz and spotify, so I just quit spotify premium. Too much trouble.

Hi... I have a 7009 and while I had issues when this was announced months ago, an update from Spotify fixed this. It now works with any device. What is your 7009 firmware version? I'd be of the 'update firmware only when necessary' camp...so just be careful when doing so. Hope you get it sorted soon. N

No luck here. Same issue over the last couple of days. I can easily control other devices (computers) in my network using the Spotify mobile app but the Marantz NR1606 remains unresponsive. At the same time, the marantz can use online radio just fine.
