syncing local files from PC to Android

syncing local files from PC to Android

I had been using a very old version of Spotify, and just the other day, changes to playlists would no longer sync to my phone or other PCs. So I begrudgingly updated to the current version.  Prior to the change in version I could easily sync playlists containing local files to my phone.  My entire CD collection has been converted to mp3 and painstakingly tagged to Spotify's track info.

In the new version, I can't find how to sync my playlists to my phone for offline use.  I can save to my phone FROM my phone, but can't find how to do this from my PC so as to include the local files.

Also, on the old PC software, I could see from within the playlists and artist pages that local files files were being recognised, but I don't from the new version.

Is syncing of local files no longer supported?

@Rollo_ !!! Long time no see!

Yeah it's still supported on Premium accounts. You need to put the local files into a playlist then download the playlist on your mobile. I can't remember how it used to work before - seems like so long ago.

Hi, Joe.  I found another post this morning just before you replied.  It was MUCH simpler on the old versions and you could do it all from the desktop.

Now if I could only figure out how to see whether the local files are actually matched up or not.  There WAS an icon in the PC playlist showing this.  I don't see it on the new version.

All this hassle because Spotify turned off syncing playlists from the old version.  It was so much easier.....  I wonder what other features are missing.  I just want to listen to all my music on the go, and its going to take twice as much time to actually do that.
