undownloading offline content issue

undownloading offline content issue

This has happened twice. The spotify app has forgotten where the data was on the phone, or something along those lines, and chosen to use my data to stream the songs rather than working off of the predownloaded songs. when I check the app storage usage in android settings it tells me spotify has used about 32gb of storage, this cannot be, I have only about 2000 songs downloaded. Not to mention there is a limit on downloaded songs. What is the fix? I tried clearing cache and data last time. This time I uninstalled and reinstalled. I am going to start manually going into offline mode to keep from data charges, but this should be fixed as soon as possible. I've seen other threads related to this at around 2012. its been 4 years. possibly more. Do help us out spotify. You provide a good service, it just needs to run smoothly.

Cheers.

Hey @user-removed!

Thanks for reaching out to the Spotify Community. We'll be happy to help.

In this case, try these steps:

  1. Log in to your account page on our website and click Offline devices in the menu on the left.
  2. Click REMOVE ALL DEVICES.
  3. Restart your device and reinstall the app again. Here's how

If that doesn't work, let us know what device, operating system and, Spotify version you're rocking. We'll take a look and see what we can suggest.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We'll be here for you 🙂

Sophia,

Yeah, good luck with this.  This has been an issue for over a year now, which Spotify don't seem to be in a hurry to fix.  It's not device specific and none of the 'fixes' given help.

I'll give this a shot. I'll let you know what happens.
