My Question or Issue

When using crossfade in conjunction with the Sleep Timer and set it for the end of the current track. The Sleep Timer kicks in when the crossfade occurs not at the end of the track as would be expected.

Hey there @RvBVakama

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, is this only happening on your phone or on other devices as well?

On another note, would you mind sending us a short screen recording of this behavior so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

We'll be waiting for your reply.

Please see attached. 8 secs crossfade is set.

Hey @RvBVakama

Thanks for your reply.

We can confirm that this is expected behavior. The crossfade blends the sound of the current song, but it kicks in once the next song starts playing. This is why it doesn't seem to work when the next song won't start playing (due to the sleep timer).

We understand your point of view as you expect the playback to fade out at the end of the song, but we're afraid it doesn't work like that at the moment.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.

Hope this clears things up. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

Hi, I'm having the same issue on Google Pixel 7 and Android 14. I think the correct app behavior, if a sleep timer is set, would be to skip crossfade for this time.

Hi @MihailsS,

This sounds like a cool idea, so feel free to post it on our Idea Exchange board. Others can then show their support by giving your idea a thumbs up and share their feedback. More info in this article.

The Community is always here if anything else comes up.

Take care.

when you have Crossfade on and a sleeptimer on „at the end of the song“ its skips that much as the crossfade is on ( if crossfade is on 7 seconds you cant hear the last 7 ) doesent sound that much but at some songs it is much
