Does this happens with other audio apps in the same circumstances? Are you using any sort of navigation software?
It sounds like the volume is ducking. If you disable Waze does this stop? If so, I believe this is intended behaviour.
Hi - yes I stopped waze and it worked. Is there no way round this at all? thanks for helping
They've been messing with ducking for a couple of months now. The current version caters for folk who were complaining that they couldn't hear their navigation software when spotify was playing. I don't think any change is likely but you could get in touch here and see what spotify say.

Hiya - I've sent them a message through that link. It's really annoying...I just look at my sat nav if I'm listening to my music, don't need the volume on...otherwise I'll just get voices all the time. Might have to stop my subscription because can't be doing with it. Thanks for helping me anyway lovely xx

We are aware of this issue and we are currently working on it. I cannot tell you when exactly, but it should be fixed with the next UI update.
