why does my Spotify keep pausing whenever I try to use it

whenever I use spotify, half of the time it will start pausing and skipping songs and it stops when I reset my device but in less than 24 hours it comes back. my device also starts triggering the Google assistant and changing the volume, for that info too. this happens on a pixel 7a and a pixel tablet

This sounds like very odd behavior which we'll investigate together and to start, can you let us know when you noticed this happening for the first time (was it after something specific) and if you have performed any troubleshooting steps so far?

Although it sounds like it could be a devices-related issue, I recommend logging out from all of the devices just in case via the Account Page > Security and Privacy > Sign out everywhere. This is to ensure that only you are logged in to your account.

Next, a clean reinstall often helps resolve different performance issues and if you've not done this already, please check and follow the steps here in order to reinstall Spotify on both devices.

When it comes to Google Assistant what you can test with is to unlink and relink your account with the steps suggested here.
