Cant find the Car Thing option in settings

Hi! The title says it all! I cant find the Car Thing option in settings to connect the car thing device. The barcode just brings me to spotify, showing the recommendations menu, nothing more. Ive tried restarting my phone and car thing, updating them, turning the car on and off, looking to see if someone has the same issue, etc. But nothing has worked! I'm thinking I just dont have a compatible device. I have a android, a LG Charge to be exact. The android version is 7.0.

EDIT: I do have premium!

According to the help article here for Car Thing:

Getting a Car Thing 

The requirements for Car Thing to work is having Android 8 or higher or iOS 14 or higher on your phone.

Are you able to update your Android phone to Android 8 or higher?
