Hey everyone,

This month, we're excited to introduce you to our brand new member of the Moderator team - @Susan_GP

Hey Susan! Can you tell us a bit about yourself? We'd really like to get to know you better 🙂

Hi, I’m Susan, I’m from Bogota, Colombia and I’ve been working at Spotify for a little over 5 years now. What can I tell you about myself? I love watching movies, and drawing, and one of my favorite things to do at the moment is skateboarding. Just cruising with some tunes on. It feels so refreshing and takes my mind off things for a while. I love Rubik's cubes so I have a bunch of them and I’ve been really into dystopian histories lately. I don’t believe in astrology whatsoever, but it seems so important to people nowadays, so I’m an Aquarius, just in case haha.

Skateboarding while listening to music definitely sounds relieving 😎 So, what kind of music are you into and what are your favorite artists?

I’ve always thought my music taste is very basic. I listen mostly to rock (classic, alternative, indie...). Some of my favorite bands are Radiohead, Muse, and Incubus. And I've been listening to a lot of Sticky Fingers and Joy Division lately. Thom Yorke and Damon Albarn are some of my favs. Oh, and for some reason, I always enjoy and pay a lot of attention to the bass in all the music I listen to.

Cool, bass is often underrated. What's the most memorable trip or vacation you've been on and why?

I haven’t traveled a lot, but I definitely want to. Some of my favorite places to visit were ‘El Tayrona’ in Santa Marta and ‘Múcura Island’. I believe having a good time depends on how you’re feeling and who you’re with (even if I’m by myself).‘Life is a complex mixture of ephemeral and interminable things, and one needs to identify them clearly in order to have a happy life.’ I read this somewhere and it expresses what I’m trying to say to perfection.

That's an interesting quote. Based on that thought, what would you like to learn or try the most?

I always want to learn something new. Right now I’m trying to improve my painting skills and Japanese level. And I’d really like to try parachuting.

If you could have a conversation with any animal, which one would you choose and what would you ask? Also, we'd like to know if you have any pets that you want to show off to us 😊

I live with my cat, her name is Ramona and I’d definitely like to have a conversation with her. Also, sea creatures in general. Just knowing what life feels like down there in their own words, would be cool.

Aww 😍 She's such a beauty! Changing to one of the hottest topics in the Community (food), if you could have a personal chef create any meal for you right now, what would you request?

I love spicy food and lately I’ve been craving some really nice tacos. So I’d have them make me some good Tacos al pastor, Tacos de birria… with some good habanero sauce, of course.

Before you go, are there any songs or playlists you've been enjoying lately that you want to share with us?

I’m always adding new stuff to my library and giving love to old stuff I haven’t listened to in a while. At the moment, these are some of the songs that I have on repeat:

Hella Good by No Doubt
Ghost Ship by Blur
The Man Who Sold the World by David Bowie
Aaand ‘Dissolve’ by Absofacto

Thanks a lot, Susan and welcome to the team!

Thanks for sticking around, folks!
Stay tuned for the next Backstage Intro coming soon.
