My Question or Issue

Hi, so for the past few months I've noticed that a bunch of Spotify generated playlists in the Decades category keep going missing. For example, Best of Rock: 1974 was the playlist that made me discover this was an issue. All of Spotify's Best of Rock (Year) playlists are gone, and only 4 years of the 70s Top Hits playlists are still up. Is this just a me thing? I cannot find even a link to these playlists anywhere, they've seemed to completely disappear and nobody's saying anything about it.

Hey @TypicalSiki

It's not uncommon for a public playlist to be deleted or changed, and unfortunately there's no way to recover it if you're not the owner.

I'd recommend adding to your library (or saving into a private playlist) music you like from public playlists. That way you can customize it to your own liking.

Also, opening a last.fm account is a great way to keep track of what you listen in Spotify, and most other music players. You just need to add your last.fm account info in the Spotify preferences, and it will log what you listen to. With this, you'll be able to see what you were listening at any point in time. Very useful! 🙂

I've noticed the same thing. All of the "Best of Rock:" playlists by Spotify are gone except for "Best of Rock: 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Hey @jgbuttricksr,

Thanks for joining the thread!
It's possible that a playlist can get taken down, in many cases in order to be revised and/ or replaced by an updated version, so I'd be on the lookout for new installments of the yearly 'Best of Rock' playlists 🙂

What I'd suggest instead in the meantime is to check out this up-to-date playlist instead:

You can also take a look at our Bizarre blogs by @Joan in case you're looking for any further inspiration and discovery.
Hope this helps! We're here if there's anything else.
