When I try to use the AI playlist feature I get the error message

"Couldn't Open Link
Spotify can't open this type of link on this device."

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

 

@tayy16, @B_la_d, @looweewees, since you mentioned you're getting an error while trying to use the AI playlist feature, we suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this issue. You can find out the steps to do it here

 

If the above doesn't do the trick, then we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running there.
  • A video recording of what's happening on your side. You can attach the videos in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload them to YouTube or Google Drive and make them public, so we can visualize them.

โ€ƒI am having the same issue on IOS version 8.9.90.84 on iPhone 13 Pro Max. I uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify twice, and then a third time following the clean reinstall instructions. I recorded a screen record, but I was only able to add photos to the reply, so I included screenshots. 

i have the exact same issue on my base model iphone 12. latest version of spotify as well

Update: tried to clear out all of the cache. still doesn't work ๐Ÿ˜ž

On my end, it just simply doesn't appear. When I click the '+' button in the corner of the library, it shows playlist and blend. I can still see the ai playlist by searching it in the search bar, but upon clicking it the same message "Spotify can't open this type of link on this device"

Also, i am running on version 8.9.90.84

If a clean reinstall didn't help, then it seems that this feature is not available for you yet. Keep in mind that it's slowly being rolled out to all users in more markets, so if you're not seeing it now, hopefully it will be available for you soon.
