Ads on HBO podcast WITH premium account

I have been a Spotify premium member for many months, and consume tens of hours of various podcasts each week.

On one of these, the Jordan B Peterson podcast, I consistently get ads, despite my Premium account! This only happens with JBP.

I understand this podcast is highly controversial to many, and to each their own views. However, negatively interfering with a paying customer's listening experience in an attempt to dissuade them from listening to Peterson, I find childish.

@Spotify, I hope you are willing to ask the clever but (in my view) misguided engineer who programmed this 'joke' to rectify the associated algorithm.

Keep in mind that Spotify doesn’t play or include ads that interrupt the listening experience of Premium subscribers. However, some podcast creators may include third-party advertising, host-read endorsements, or sponsorship messages in their episodes.

Spotify gives the podcast hosts the option to choose if they would like to have a dynamic ad slot in their podcast, but that isn't something Spotify can control - it's up to the individual podcast owners if they choose to have that type of ad in their content.

Thank you for your kind reply.

I now realize I have been rather sloppy in formulating my question, and have left out a crucial piece of information. I apologize.

So, I am aware that that the JBP podcast includes messages from its own particular sponsors. 

What I am complaining about, are ads completely unrelated to the podcast. How do I know they are unrelated? The JBP podcast is sponsored by companies situated in North America, and the ads are read by Jordan Peterson's daughter. The ads I am complaining about are local to my area (Flanders, Belgium), read in Dutch, so definitely not chosen by the JBP podcast.

I hope this clarifies my complaint.

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the clarification.

Even if the Ad is not in the same language, this also enters in the same dynamic ad slot in their podcast. 

We appreciate the time you took reporting this behavior and sharing your feedback. However, advertising is very much tied to the traditional podcast listening experience that has worked well for both creators and listeners in the past. 

So, even as a Premium member, you may hear advertising or sponsorship messages within the episodes. You can also check out more info about it here.
