My Question or Issue
The album Know Better Learn Faster by Thao and the get down stay down is no longer in my artist list when it has always been there. I tried unliking the album and reliking but that doesn't work. I wonder how many other albums are missing from my artists list?
Hey @Peninsula314,
Thanks for searching for the answer you need here!
If you can no longer see this album in the library it's possible that the release isn't currently available in your country or the license has expired. The availability of content on the platform varies over time and between countries, depending on agreements between Spotify and rights holders, such as artists or record labels.
We add new content to Spotify every day, so if you can’t find this release right now, it may still reappear soon. Alternatively, you can always contact the artist or record label for more info or make use of the local files feature.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.
I already know that. Why do I bother putting details when you don't even properly look into my problem? I gave the name of the album and artist as well as my country. Is this not enough for you to see that I can like and listen to the album? The problem is it shows in my albums but it does not show in my artist page. It has been there in the past. When I like another album by this artist the album shows on the artists page but not this album. Can you please just understand so I don't have to go back and forth a million times?
Hi there @Peninsula314,
Thanks for the clarification.
Can you let us know if this is happening on all your devices?
Can you send us a screenshot of how things look on your end after a clean reinstall of the app? Follow this guide for best results. Corrupted cache on your device might be causing this.
We tried to replicate this on our end, but the album Know Better Learn Faster appears liked when you're following the artist Thao in their Artist page.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Cheers.
It's the same on my desktop and mobile so it can't be the install. I reinstalled on my mobile anyway, same thing. Attached are screens of it in the albums grouped with the artist and not in the artist page. Sigh............
Youll also notice there is an album that shows twice. The same happened for the we the common album. When I unliked both and reliked it, it came back to the artist page shown only once as it should be. Def something weird goin on with your app, but this isn't as pressing as an issue and I wouldn't want to overwhelm you guys
Hey @Peninsula314,
Thanks for keeping in touch and for sending those screenshots.
The behavior your describing can happen when an album gets reuploaded by the distributors. If they have different metadata or URIs, the app will check backstage to link to the accurate track/album, but it will currently miss to transfer the liked status to the newer version.
We've provided guidelines to distributors of what they can do to keep tracks/albums fully in sync and basically overwrite old versions, but we know this is something that occurs.
We'll keep working on improving this experience moving forward and advise that you keep the app up to date with the latest version so that you don't miss out on any fixes.
Hope this sheds some light on the situation. If you have any other questions, we're just a post away.
Cheers!
So you're passing the buck to someone else with no idea if or when it will be resolved? Glad I went through all that back and forth to finally been told it's a known issue. Good stuff
Hey @Peninsula314,
Thanks for getting back to us.
We can confirm that we've implemented certain backstage checks that try and relink albums, but as @Alex mentioned, there are still some requirements that need to be upheld in order for everything to go smoothly when content gets re-uploaded by different content providers.
We're not trying to pass any blame or responsibility to anyone, but this is a matter of mutual cooperation and there's only so much we can do on our end.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.
