Algorithm has become TERRIBLE

Algorithm has become TERRIBLE

Myself and many other users of Spotify have noticed that the algorithm for recommending songs has been HORRENDOUS within the last few months. I keep hearing (and skipping) the same 5 songs that get recommended to me over and over again. To say I am extremely disappointed is an understatement.

I was previously a user of other services, but because of the how great Spotify was I switched completely to Spotify. I have been a customer for YEARS and I will not continue to pay for premium when there is no point in having it unless changes are made.

If you think I am alone in this I just watched an artist on tiktok explain your new garbage algorithm and it had nearly 60k likes and I'm assuming many more views. I hope you consider making a change, because if you don't, I will.

I even deactivate the "SMART" shuffle and still spotify keeps playing stuff from outside my list?! Most enjoying!! 😞

I agree, but Spotify has never understood my preferences, personally. I won't pay for a subscription to a service like this anyway. It doesn't make sense to me to purchase something that you don't own. If you ever move overseas, for example, you can lose your entire library to copyright laws. I've moved countries twice and lost whatever I'd purchased digitally both times. There's also the danger that a service calls it quits and then you lose your purchases that way. That's not how it's supposed to work. If you buy it, you should own it, end story. So, having a sucky algorithm that's just getting worse kind of goes with the general territory of scams and rip-offs, the way I see it, and these subscription services are exactly that. Avoid their guesses about your brain at all costs.
