My Question or Issue

So usually I wouldn't really care about stuff like this but it's starting to get really frustrating. Most of my problems with the app right now would be solved if the Android version was up to date with the IOS. The thing is that when I try to access my downloaded music with bad service/wifi it still loads the music in as if I didn't have it downloaded at all. This is not my main problem but still really annoying, if I'm paying for premium and the ability to download music, then why can't I have immediate access to this music all the time? Better yet, why not give premium users a tab at the bottom where we can tap and have all of our downloaded content right there? Where IOS vs. Android comes in is that IOS has the "slide to add to queue" feature and has had it for year, while android hasn't even gotten any significant type of facelift or improvements to user interface for multiple years. The "slide to queue" feature may not sound like too much until you realize that on Android you have to go into the menu on each individual song, wait for it to load (which sucks if you have little or no wifi because it still tries to load the "see artist/album etc."), and then find and click the "add to queue" button. All of which apple users have been able to do with a single swipe for around a year now. Why don't we get the same updates/treatment? Is it because there's no real competition like apple music on Android? Why is user interface feel like it's being pushed aside as a whole? The home page feels absolutely useless. All it gives me are podcasts when I have listened to less than 20 minutes of podcasts as a whole on spotify? Why can't I just see music that I might like or from similar artists etc.? This is the page you put me on when I click on the app, WHY DOES IT FEEL USELESS? And what have they been doing (aside from probably bug fixes) instead of improving the app? I really like spotify, I think that the music sharing and song radios are great and I've used spotify for 7 or more years. But the more I've been using it lately, the more I feel like switching to youtube music. I'll be interested to see if/when I get a response and if anyone else is experiencing these problems

Hey there @djperr57,

Thank you for your post and feedback.

We're always testing things by adding or removing features to make Spotify better overall and constantly aiming to improve our features. We’re sorry that this means you’re not able to use Spotify like you wish to do at the moment.

You can read more about how your feedback reaches Spotify here.

When it comes to accessing your downloaded music we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app. This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

Once again - thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it. Let us know how everything goes so that we can continue to assist you if you need us to.

Take care!

Thank you for the quick reply! I cleared my cache files so I'm hoping to see those improvements. And I realize that every music app doesn't have that great of a home page but I just thought that it would make a great addition. But I feel like my main question still hasn't been answered, and I realize that I asked a lot of questions so I'll just ask the one now:

Why doesn't the Android version get the same treatment/features/updates as the IOS version?

Again thank you for the quick reply!

Hi @djperr57

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Keep in mind that since iOS and Android are different operating systems, the app between the two of them can't be exactly the same.

On another note, we’re always testing possible improvements and new features, so you might see something on the app that other users don't, or get a brand-new feature for only a temporary period.

We really value your feedback as it helps inform our decisions going forward, and we'll be sure to pass this on to the right folks here at Spotify.

If you need help with anything else, just let us know 🙂

How about making the swipe to queue and the swipe to like feature accessible on the android version as well.

This feature has been requested numerable times and has not been addressed yet.

Hey @Arpitch98,

If you think other users might also like it, go ahead and create an idea on the relevant idea board. We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.

We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
