I just wonder why you have to get songs censored the way you do? You literally destroy many songs with that. Maybe cursing doesn't sound so nice, but if you don't like the song they curse on, WHY do you listen to it?
I, as myself, don't care about the cursing but like to listen to the songs meaning. If a rapper made a song with meaning, but had cursing as a way to express himself, you should look at the meaning not the cursing. Maybe you can't find the meaning but that is YOUR problem. Seriously, when a song you like, gets bugged up with suddenly silent moments that doesn't fit in at all... YOU should know what I mean....

Definitely not a good idea. I've already encountered several albums that are only available in a clean format (for example: most of Cake's albums) and it compromises the artist's intentions (and one that was so glaringly irritating I almost *brace yourself* switched to apple music). If you're listening with children or elderly people there are plently of albums recorded with that in mind on spotify. Don't encourage censorship.
STOP CENSORING SONGS !!!!!!
Just thought you'd all find this interesting. I created a playlist where there is really no point in censoring songs, because it just takes most of the song away.
is there a way to make your account censored? I have little children and often listen to spotify while working or bar b queing and some sogs are inappropriate.
Radio Sucks that's why I pay or Spotify, lol
Hey there,
I don't see that arrow you said displays next to the album title if there is a duplicate (clean or explicit version). Is it a NZ issue?
what if you want you kids to listen to the songs with out the unsutible TV pop video. and find that the tune my young son likes if ful of swearing the weekend starboy is the tune in question.. I their are two vertiong one tagged as explicit and the other with no tagging. not happy looked at apple music it has the same problem...

It's about to be year 2017 and I still feel like we are being treated like little kids by Spotify.
Please GIVE US adults a simple toggle switch to either disable the UI from showing censored songs OR when playing songs, play the uncensored version first and if none is available, then play the uncensored version. How hard can this be for you folks to implement this giving how much money you guys are pulling in? This is one major reason why I am not a paying member.
thier is a switch on apple music for this.

This official Spotify solution to this is wrong. I just found out the hard way by listening to the "clean" version of Ill Communication by The Beastie Boys with my 10 year old son! Even though there are two versions available, I can assure you that the one without the "explicit" labels is deifinately not a cleaned up version. It's just not remastered, it's the original release.
Whether or not you agree with censorship or patental guidance and the whole PMRC controversy is of no consequence - it's here and it's a tool for parents to use so they don't have to pre-listen to content to make sure it's okay for kids. The label should be correct and the official Spotify solution should be correct.
This is incorrect. There are many many instances of explicit material on Spotify without the 'explicit' label.
For me, it says that it's explicit but it's not censored...
so, how do i censor songs? cause i don't know which ones cuss. plz help.
and also i listen to music with a 4 year old...
I have Get Right Witcha by Migos on my playlist, when I listen to the song on my laptop it is censored, but when I listen to it on my phone, it is not censored, how does that make sense? The "explicit" sticker shows up on both my laptop and phone.
