A lot of artists' pages are displaying the clean versions of their albums instead of the actual explicit versions that should show by default.
The explicit versions of the songs of said albums are still available through the search results and the artist most popular tracks section, but they're "hidden" on the actual artist page album lists.
Here's an example of the clean version of CHROMAKOPIA by Tyler, the Creator being displayed on the artist page instead of the explicit version.
If you need any more examples, check out the artist pages for Kanye West, Post Malone and any other artists whose releases are full of explicit content.

Hey everyone,
Great news - this is now fixed!
You should notice a difference right away, just make sure to restart the app.
Cheers 🙂
I'm seeing the same issue.
Taylor Swift
Album as example: Midnight, comes in 3 editions. 3am is clean, the other 2 should not.
If I search for the song "Snow on the beach", I find 2 explicit and one clean version (clean from 3am, the others from the 2 other editions).. I can play the explicit one from the search results.
I navigate to Taylor Swift's page, go to albums, scroll to Midnight's editions, all 3 are clean. Even the one I found through the search results.
Same for all Limp Bizkit's albums. It's really weird to listen to the song Hot Dog with all the blanks...
I double checked my settings, and Explicit Content is turned on.
This feels like a bad code push to prod?
Noticing the same for The Weeknd! I have to search the albums/songs for the explicit versions.
explicit albums are playable but not showing up in artists profile, tried adding video attachments but it won't let me.

Yeah I’m noticing that now. Why is it only showing clean albums? I know I have explicit turned on
Hi there folks,
Thank you all for your replies and the information provided.
We've tested this on our end with various artists and can confirm that we were able to reproduce this behaviour. This is now being looked into. We'll keep you posted on any updates as soon as we have them.
In the meantime, the explicit versions can still be found around the app with a little more searching as those are still available. Check if the songs have the E explicit tag. Sometimes, you can see the Parental Advisory sticker in the album cover too.
It's a bit easier on desktop as you can open the album and check if there's a drop down menu at the bottom showing multiple releases of that specific album. This will allow you to switch to different versions of that release, which should include the explicit version as well.
Cheers!
Yeah, exactly. More to it, not that I search for an artist and look for discography I can't find albums with explicit content. Only if you search for a specific album there'll be two versions of it, one of which is explicit. what the heck?
Spotify defaulting to the clean version of albums
hello, i need help, spotfy decides to default most
I am having the same issue with MAC Miller album GOOD AM. Only shows clean version, which is awful
Your mobile app does not has a feature to switch between different album versions tho
Hey @JRJRJR1,
Thanks for reaching out!
There's a live idea on this topic, which you can vote for and show your support. More info on how the Idea Exchange board works here.
Cheers!
“Yeah, but….”
The default should be the original (explicit) album, when I have the Explicit option turned on in my settings.
That’s the user’s expectation (clearly, see discussion above).
I don’t deny the option to browse multiple versions of an album also needs to be on mobile. So I did vote for that idea.
But it is not the solution for the issue raised in this topic! That also needs to be investigated and solved. (At the moment it feels like belittling of the users… Like we can’t handle explicit versions…)
Hey @u6boo1tk_-z7h,
Thanks for your response!
We fully understand your concern and as mentioned by @Joan this has already been raised with the respective team, so that they can look into it. As soon as we get an update from them, we'll make sure to post here and let you know.
Take care.
Thanks for your clarification!
(Working at a public software company myself, I was afraid to see a pattern we pull once in a while… my apologies!)
Hoping to hear an update soon!
