[Discover] Unrelated and unwanted artists are showing up in Release Radar

[Discover] Unrelated and unwanted artists are showing up in Release Radar

I will grant you that multiple artists use identical or similar names. However, too many that I have never listened to are showing up in my Release Radar.

I can guarantee you that I am not interested in the song FUNDZ - by naldd, Opeth, TAEMIN just because I'm a fan of the Swedish melodic death metal/prog rock band Opeth.

Hey there @delerivm,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

The more you listen, the better recommendations you'll get in the Made for you playlists. In this article, you can check how frequently they get updated.

We also suggest that you select the songs that you don't like and choose the "Hide this song" option. Likewise, you can Like the songs you do like by clicking on the heart icon. This will help the playlist to be updated so it can include more personalized results.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.

If you need a hand with anything else, just let us know.

Thank you for the reply. I'll keep liking and hiding like I have been, but this behavior has been going on for years, so I suppose it's just a limitation of your software. Thanks again!

I am having to hide virtually every song in release radar because they are horrendous suggestions of artists I do not enjoy or listen to.

hiding the songs doesn’t prevent these artists coming back the following week.

Are you getting completely unrelated suggestions? For me, the problem is that I'm getting completely different bands and artists with identical names to ones that I listen to frequently getting thrown in there.

They don't lump every artist with the same name together on their artist pages, so I don't know why it's so hard to keep track of in Release Radar.

There exists a fraud problem where every low quality content creator apparently can go and add any artist as collaborator and triggering a release radar recommendation to the collaborator's listeners. There are no relevant options in reporting the track in the report dropdown menu because the music is not offensive, the artist has nothing bad in their profile apart from listing collaborators into tracks that had nothing to do with them.

The solution would have to have the collaborators accept the track as theirs before it triggers the recommendation/release radar recommendation. Also banning the culprit after multiple tries. There's a pattern to these artists, the artist names are written in all caps and there's always two collaborators listed. The tracks are low quality EDM in a few different tempos.

Currently my release radar contains "The Brightside" by LMF ISNARD with "Moder" and "Apparat" as collaborators, the same track was uploaded a few weeks ago with collaborators "Moderat" and "Apparat". After it I also have LYONA with Kiasmos and Weval. It does not require an expert to recognise that those collaborators had nothing to do with those tracks.

I have been getting both of the above.

Completed unrelated suggestions, as well as songs with unknown and unrelated "collaboraters".
It basically means that release radar is useless as only 2% of the tracks in this playlist, I actualy want to listen to.
This is supposed to be a way, I can stay updated with new releases from my favourite artists.

Now it's just a dumping ground for bad pop and terrible dance music.

FYI I listen to alternative, punk, grunge and indie.

Same for me,

the release Radar as well as the weekly mix are complete useless as of now.

Today i have only strange singer songwriter artists in my release radar which i know none of and dont like any of it, even if i use the "dislike" button and "delete" songs in that playlist they still come back. About 90% of the time i listen to hiphop or reggae and nothing close to whats presented in both playlists.

One more not ideal thing is random tracks from audio books, yes sometimes i listen to exactly one audio book series but track 128 from random audio book (not even in my language) does not rly help.
