Discover Weekly has the wrong impression of my music taste

Discover Weekly has the wrong impression of my music taste

I listen to lofi music to study while my actual taste in recreational listening is metal. So when I open Discover Weekly I want metal and I'm consistently disappointed to find a whole bunch of lofi. I don't care about lofi at all. I don't know any lofi artist names. I just follow a lofi playlist and put it on when I crack open a book. I haven't followed any lofi artists or liked any lofi songs but my Discover Weekly is just a pile of lofi. Meanwhile, most of my liked songs are metal and the artists I follow are metal artists. My personally curated playlists are different genres of metal. Whyyyy is my Discover Weekly all this super chill study fodder?

Hey there @eralidra,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community 🙂 We moved your post from the Ideas board since it doesn't qualify as one.

Keep in mind that playlists made for you take into account all the music that you listen to, not just the artists that you follow or the songs that you've liked.

If you don't want to keep getting suggestions based on this type of music, we'd recommend turning on a Private Session. Anything you listen to while being in a Private Session will not affect any of your recommendations.

You'll find the steps to enable private listening here.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community is always a message away.

Take care!
