[Discover Weekly ] keeps showing me the same songs

[Discover Weekly ] keeps showing me the same songs

Plan: Premium

Country: Germany

Operating System: Android, MacOs, Linux Ubuntu

My Question or Issue:

Since ever I keep getting in Discover Weekly the songs I've already not only heard but also had in Discover Weekly, sometimes even a week ago. This is unbelievably annoying. Only half (approx.) of the songs is really something new. There are some tracks that pop up on the list every second week or so! There's definitely something broken.

I found many people who have been complaining for years about this on this very forum but all those complaints appear to be ignored by those who could actually passt the problem the devs. Yes, the standard answers from the moderator like "unfollow Discover Weekly and follow it again" don't help at all: I'm not following that list, it appears in my "Home" tab.
This is a cool feature but it has problems.

I also have questions to Release Radar but I understand that a 50 years old song newly added to Spotify or added to another album is seen by Spotify as a new song, so there's nothing to talk about.

I hope that that this topic will highlight the problem even more.

Hey there @xpoback,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

We'll be happy to shed more light how the Discover Weekly playlist is been curated. This personalized selection is prepared on a weekly basis filled with songs that you might like, based on your current liked songs and your current followed profiles of friends and artists. The playlist is supposed to refresh/update its content every Monday, however if your musical preferences and listening habits have not dramatically changed in this period (since last week), a notable change might be observed from a week to three weeks later, depending on how actively you explore, like and play new music.

Please note that seeing the same suggestions here and there is actually expected, as they are generated by an algorithm which is referencing those based on your current pool of liked content, thus tipping you that there is a strong match with the recommended title and your preferences.

Regarding the Release Radar, we understand where you're coming from, however when a title (even an old song) appears in the platform for the first time, it needs to be introduced to the users, and so we believe they have their rightful place there too.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
