Do independent artist feel they have enough resources to making a living with their music?

I have had this discussion with a few of my colleagues. I wonder what you all may think. My opinion is I think that the access to the internet is a huge advantage, but it just depends on how you use it. Circumstance can also play a huge part as well because not everyone starts in music through the same route.

Well, your question can start a never ending discussion on how, when and if artists/musicians these days have confidence on starting a career and make a living out of it.

I want to believe most artists or musicians, in this case, start their musical journey from a place within their hearts which doesn't concern money of publicity.

In the age of massive coverege and exposure through apps, internet and so on, there are many ways of starting things off way more easy than before.

All depends on the artist dedication and love for the music he makes and yes, it isn't a secret, the amount of strength and money he's willing to invest in it.
