Explicit content

Solved!

Explicit content

A lot of explicit content I'd liked disappeared when I changed my location. How can I solve this?

Hey @Stive1,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop ๐Ÿ™‚

In case the songs appear to be grayed out, that could mean that they are currently not available in your country. This is due to licensing factors.

We add new content to Spotify every day, so if you canโ€™t find something youโ€™re looking for right now, it may appear soon.

We'll be right here if you have any questions.

Hey there @Stive1,

Thank you for your post.

We want all the worldโ€™s music and podcasts on Spotify, but availability can vary over time and between countries, depending on the permissions from rights holders.

Let us know if we can help you out with anything else.

Take care ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah and I agree with that...but it's mostly explicit content...as if I, or the people where I now am, couldn't discern what's explicit and what's not

Hi there @Stive1,

Thank you for your reply.

You should be able to see EXPLICIT or E tags on any releases.

Note: We canโ€™t tag all explicit content because it depends on information we get from rights-holders.

You can also double-check so that you have Explicit Content enabled by following these steps:

  1. Tap Home .
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Tap Explicit Content.
  4. Switch Allow Explicit Content on.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Take care!

Well it's enabled but I still don't see my songs..whatever thank you

Hey @Stive1,

Thanks for getting back to us ๐Ÿ™‚

It's a good idea to check if the option Show unavailable songs in playlists is turned off in your app's Settings. In case it is we'd suggest you turn it on. Do the songs appear as grayed out?

Yeah it's on! That's how I noticed that some songs couldn't be played. But I have to say too that it's mostly songs from albums where there's no song without explicit content.

Well..on the same topic..most of the songs (not all of them) have their non-explicit version available but their explicit ones are grayed out

Hi @Stive1,

In some countries, copyright holders pull certain versions of songs off the platform.

Hope this makes sense.
