My Question or Issue

On my Spotify home page, an artist (Steve Calderbank) has just been stuck under the "Good morning" section alongside other podcasts I've listened to. How exactly is this category determined? I don't want to see this artist anymore, and I'm sick of seeing him appear every time I open Spotify. He's some metal musician that came up when I Shazam'd a Doom chant, because he likely illegally took said chant and put a lame metal riff under it, and I have no interest in his catalog.

How to ensure I remove this? And furthermore, how do I determine what appears here?

Hey @RobotCoffin,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

The items on the home page are generated based on your listening habits and can be updated from time to time with new entries. There are no specific user facing control on what is shown there. But there is an idea submission on a similar topic. You can vote on it and share it, if you're passionate on the subject.

Hope this clears things a bit,

Cheers!

That is what I assumed, but why does it show an artist I've literally only listened to once out of curiosity, and meanwhile, artists I frequent never appear there?

Hey @RobotCoffin,

Thanks for the reply.

At this point we don't have more info to share on the inner workings of the suggestions algorithm. We hope you understand. But as we strive to constantly improve the user experience on our platform, maybe some day the suggestions will exactly match what you want to hear.

Cheers!
