How are genres counted?

I have a Premium plan if that matters. I inquire about how genres are counted in spotify's algorithm as I am trying to get as many genres as possible on my wrapped this year. If I listen to only one song from a genre will it count towards the total? Must I listen to two or more songs for it to count?

they define genres based on info from listener playlists (title, description, etc.) and our music curation teams. they don't use info from metadata or the playlist pitching tool in Spotify for Artists. they recognize genres that constantly evolve and songs can cross different genres.

I mean how are genres counted once listened to. For Wrapped it counts genres listened, but I want to know if only one song listened to from a genre counts towards the wrapped number or if the requirement is multiple listens.

Did you actually try it? Because I wondered the same and was going to try it this coming year, but wasn’t sure how many songs of one genre are needed for it to be considered listened to. I was going to do it with one of each genre but it would kinda be a waste of time you need more than one…

This year I listened to 1100~ genres once, and only got 45 in my wrapped.
Sad.
