My Question or Issue

Hi all,

I am having an issue with Spotify DJ and automatic mixes.

We use them for ease and safety when driving.

We also have a playlist for our toddler who being a toddler loves nursery rhymes and kids music and play this special playlist in the car and on a speaker to keep said toddler entertained.

The issue is now that dj and drive mixes are infected by kids content.

How do we prevent this from occurring?

I have searched through posts as I assume this is quite a common question but have drawn a blank other than one admin saying buy an account for a 2 year old, this is neither practical to use or administer as they're 2 so don't have a smartphone or anyway of using it.

I must be missing something really obvious as surely this issue happens with everyone with kids.

So I ask for my own sanity is it possible to filter kids genre from other automatic playlists, I wouldn't expect my podcasts or for that matter a House / electro track to start playing in the middle of an indie or rock automatic playlist any more than I expect wheels on the bus or baby shark.

Any ideas?

Hi @NTL42, thanks for writing.

Yes, I do have an idea that might help you.

Just go to your toddler's playlist and (if using a mobile) tap the three-dotted icon under the title, and then choose "Exclude from your profile".

By doing this you prevent the issue from occurring.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I have done just that on both phones and hope it will restore our listening experience.

I assume it may take some time to take effect but is just the (obvious) thing I missed!

Thanks for the tip!!!

Hey @NTL42, I'm glad I could help.

Yes, it should take some time before you notice the expected changes, but it won't take long.

Enjoy!
