Hello:

Seems Musixmatch cancelled the access to their service from the Spotify desktop apps. The Musixmatch CEO has been retweeting all last weekend about it from his personal user account. You can read all about it via Musixmatch's twitter feed here: https://twitter.com/Musixmatch/with_replies

There is a way to get lyrics back while using the Spotify desktop app, but it requires an add on if you are on a Windows system. http://www.lyrify.com/ I have been using it for the past 24 hrs now, and so far it has done just as good a job as Musixmatch was doing, maybe just slighly slower loading lyrics but not by much. Took me a bit of time to figure out why the Lyrify app would not stay on the desktop when the Spotify desktop app was on the desktop screen too, and realized all I needed to do was minimize the Spotify desktop app to taskbar, and then click on Lyrify app to load it on the desktop and change the Settings of the Lyrify app under Snap to Spotify setting to Normal, and the app would load on the desktop with Spotify on the desktop as well. The nice thing about Lyrify is one can change font types and sizes without changing anything with the Spotify desktop app. I was able to hunt down a close enough free type font to even match the new circular type font being used in the Spotify apps now.

And with Musixmatch no longer connected to the Spotify desktop apps, the Spotify desktop app seems to load better than before when the Musixmatch service was there, but maybe that is just a coincidence?
