I have mentioned this already in the 'Blur' topic, but this is important. Several albums have dissapeared from several artists, such as Blur, Daft Punk, Justice and David Bowie. Wonder if anyone's got any ideas if this is normal and will be fixed or we should be panicking. Or not. I am also dissatisfied that albums and songs are taken off at all, leaving those hideous repalcement tags. They're kinda annoying.
So anyway, any thoughts on this would be great
Solved! Go to Solution.
My morning go to Album: A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step is missing!
I went to listen to my favorite album 'Seventh son of a seventh son' by 'Iron Maiden' and it's gone! What the hell?
Terje Rypdal, Anouar Brahem and Jan Garbarek are still largely missing. I still haven't received a reply to my query of 48 plus hours ago placed to Spotifys message contact. I don't know what else is missing but I've got better stuff to do than pay $10 a month for **bleep**ty service.
fram3y- I've just moved your post over to this more relevant thread.
This has been confirmed to be a technical issue, rather than a content takedown for the most part.
We're working directly with the labels to fix it --we'll let you know as soon as there's an update.
In the instances where this ends up being content take down, I would appreciate your facilitating our being able to place our concerns directly with the source of those problems. I also would *REALLY LIKE* some notification when content is going to go missing, if you get any warning beforehand. I can see from looking over this board that this is an ongoing problem for Spotify, which is really unfortunate.
Nice to see Wes Montgomery Finger Pickin is back but Egberto Gismonti is still missing. I've got til the 24th of this month to decide Should I Stay or Should I Go.
I'm interested to understand how a technical issue is being resolved with the help of the labels, could someone explain that one to me?

Issues to do with the tracks we received from the labels. Can't say I understand it all myself, but I can imagine all kinds of possible problems with those files.
Does this issue only effect music on EMI and associated record labels (Virgin etc)?
The albums mentioned in this thread (Coldplay, Bowie, Blur etc) all seem to be EMI releases.
Daft Punk is on Virgin, so this may be the case.
I noticed that most, except from think Tank, all my Blur albums were gone.
Most upsetting.
Contacted Spotify and all I got was a copy paste reply (i ll copy paste it here):
Every Coldplay album is back now! Great work!
Give back Seventh son of a seventh son!!
Glad to see Coldplay is back - thanks for the updates, Meredith and Richard 🙂
It's all back! Take that, cynics!
Thank you everyone from the Mod team and others who contributed helpful information. Hopefully this won't happen again!
Still not solved. Anour Brahem, Terje Rypdal and Jan Garbarek are still gone and I still don't have anything but a canned non-answer from your contact bot.
Funny; demonstrated your service to a colleague today. He really loved the site. Explained your propensity for losing sh*t. He wasn't too impressed with that.
Hey just4today,
Now you've not only got a canned answer from a contact bot, but from a real person as well 🙂
Blur - the great escape still isnt there, Rocket juice and the moon isnt either.
Is this going to get fixed?
Other Blur albums seem to be there...
Excellent! Real people!
Now lets have some real answers.
I accept that there are a variety of reasons why some albums may suddenly disappear or some artists may not choose to use your venue to sell their wares or whatever (or that they may choose to only sell some of their wares here, or may have conflicting obligations and options blah blah blah, etc).
I also get that handling hundreds of thousands of individual titles with god knows what variety of legal and commercial entanglements involved is a job only Sisyphus could love.
What I don't get is a company that's so badly organized that it chokes on it's own ineptitude. Why does it take a week to get an answer to simple questions? Don't tell me somebody who works for this outfit, somewhere, doesn't know exactly what's happened to each and every title that's gone missing, and exactly why. If you/they don't then don't expect your jobs to continue indefinitely.
Whether or not it's any business of your customers is up to you. Obviously I think it is, but I don't own your company. What I will tell you is that you can't afford the static and ill will you're creating by this behavior, and you're wasting a huge amount of political capital by not utilizing your customers willingness to go to bat for you and put pressure where it will do the most good. All you have to do is steer us in the right direction.
Trust me; I'd rather be writing a letter to Anouar Brahem or Jan Garbarek or their agents or somebody who can actually get me what I want AND AM WILLING TO PAY FOR!
This is not a new problem for you guys; I've been reading your mail. I know losing one subscriber doesn't mean snot to you, but the worst form of advertising is a dissatisfied customer.
Believe it or not I think Spotify is the best thing since Eve invented piku, but you gotta pick it up. Lets go!
(and if you actual people can't do anything about this, how about forwarding it to somebody who can, please.)
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
